Nothing is more warming that a big Imperial Stout on a blustery Autumn/Winter evening, so By the Horns brewed this beast to fill that void. They also love stouts that offer an extra twist on the 4 natural ingredients (barley, water, yeast & hops) used to brew beer. So they explored the combination of chocolate and cherries, yes a proven combination which can often miss the mark when added to a beer, but they feel they got the balance absolutely spot on with a cherry on the top! Expect a lot of roasted, caramel & smoked malts are used in this brew to give it that underlying complexity, let alone it being an 11% abv beast! To give this Imperial Stout an extra twist we conditioned it with Liquid Cacao (raw chocolate liquid) and Sour Cherry puree, so expect subtle creamy chocolate notes perked up with light sour cherry notes flowing through. A very warming and complex beer. Hops: Fuggle. Malt: Chocolate, Crystal 240, Crystal 400, Roasted Barley, Smoked malt & British Pale Malted Barley. Other: Liquid Cacao & Sour Cherry Puree. 11% By The Horns Brewing
By the Horns has taken inspiration from the clean & crisp Czech Pilsners for this beer but they decided to put our the brewery stamp on the beer style and make it their own. A low abv drinkable lager should be everything that a Czech Pilsner offers, & so this beer is brewed with a clean profile yet with underlying bready malt notes from British Extra Pale malt, then with a hop blend of classic Czech Saaz & US Centennial hops popping in the foreground. Unfiltered & unpasteurised keeps this beer full in flavour, and at only 4.0% abv this little number really packs a punch. Expect subtle bready malt with light & refreshing hop notes in the foreground creating a flavourful rounded lager. Hops: Czech Saaz & US Centennial. Malt: British Extra Pale Malted Barley & wheat. 4% By The Horns Brewing
